Janice Cecilia Dorsey, 52, of Sykesville, died Sunday, October 18, 2015 at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
   Born December 6, 1952 in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late James Edward Brown, Sr. and Mary Ellen Herbert . She was the wife of Carlton Louis Dorsey, Sr.  They had been married for 16 years. She was the former wife of Basil Smith.
She had worked as a care giver for many years. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and family.
  In addition to her husband she is survived by son Carlton  L. Dorsey, Jr. and his girlfriend Bobbi, daughter Stephanie Smith, brother James, sisters Denise, Samantha and Sharon, grandchildren Naya, Kayla, Skyler, D’Arice, Samya, Jamaya and Trent, Aunt Hilda Johnson, brother-in-laws:  Larry Dorsey (Ruth), Brandon Dorsey, sister-in-laws: Bessie Dorsey, Barbara (Ellis), and Molly and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
   Funeral Services will be held Saturday, 12 Noon at Mt. Gregory United Methodist Church, 2325 Washington Road, Route 97, Cooksville, MD 21723 with the Rev. Christopher Serufusa, officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Mt. Gregory United Methodist Church, P.O.
