William Harold (Bill) Lizor, Sr., 82, of Sykesville, MD, passed away Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at his home while in the company of family members. Born August 16, 1941 in Hagerstown, Maryland he was the son of the late Joseph Lizor, Sr. and the late Minnie Smith Lizor. He is the husband of Joyce Lizor. They had been married for 51 years. Bill had retired from Sweetheart Cup as a Quality Control manager after 37 years of service. He had also retired from Ottenbergs Bakery after 15 years of service. Bill was a veteran of the US. Air Force. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and participating in church activities. He was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church Sykesville, MD 21784. Bill is survived by son John Charles Lizor and wife Kathy, daughter Osie Carol Babylon, daughter Theresa Unger and husband Chris, son William H. Lizor, Jr., brother Monsignor Joseph Lizor, Jr., sisters Elizabeth Libby Dayhoff and Margaret Lewis, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 7538 Main Street, Sykesville, MD, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 21st, with Rev. Chris Guyer and Rev. Mary Ka Kalahan officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park with military honors. Although there will be no public visitation, the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at church. The Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, Maryland is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
