Urban Macken Donnelly, Jr.

Urban Macken Donnelly, Jr., 85, of Sykesville, died Monday, January 18 at his home surrounded by his family. Born November 26, 1935 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Urban Macken Donnelly, Sr. and Elizabeth Bergmann Donnelly. He was the husband of the late Doris ‘Dottie’ Brodt Donnelly who died July 3, 2017.They had been married for 58 years. He worked as a real estate agent with Long and Foster along with his wife. Prior to that, he was a supervising manager with Geico Insurance. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Urban enjoyed cruises, playing cards and being with family and friends. He was also a fan of the Washington Nationals and Washington Capitals. He was thrilled when the Nationals won the World Series last year. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Urban is survived by daughter Lori D. Eidsness of Wilmington, NC, daughter Kim Donnelly of Eldersburg, granddaughter Shannon M. Eidsness of Wilmington, NC, granddaughter Jenna R. Tripp and husband Matt, granddaughters Katie E. Reed, Carly M. Reed and great grandsons Landon and Macklin Tripp all of Eldersburg. He was preceded in death by son-in-law Eric C. Eidsness. Funeral services will be scheduled for a later date. The Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home & Monument Company, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg are handling funeral arrangements.
