Thomas Alex ‘Tom’ Fonner, 55, of Westminster, died Monday, May 15, 2023 at University of Maryland Medical Center. Born July 20, 1967 in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Nancy Bogochenao Fonner and the late William Fonner. He was the husband of Brandy L. Fonner. They had been Friends for 17 years and married for 5 years. Tom worked as a warehouseman making respirators for fire fighters for 7 years before he went on disability in 2016. He had also worked at Fairhaven and Joseph Banks before they closed. In his 20’s he had worked construction helping to build the Greens. He enjoyed playing Nintendo 64 with his children and also spending time with his family. Before he became ill, he enjoyed drinking coffee every morning with his wife. In addition to his mother and wife, Tom is survived by children Shirley and Andrew Fonner, step children Amber and Peyton Riddle, Roy Fonner, Aiden Little, Andrew ‘Roland’ VanSickle, Alice Franks and Kandi Spellman. He is also survived by siblings Kathy McCartney(Don), Scott Fonner(Jackie), David Fonner(friend Sherry), William Fonner, Shawn Fonner(Amber), Shane Fonner(Melissa), Joe Fonner(Nicki)Stephanie Staton(Frank), grandson Ben, good friends Johnny Lewis, Daba Dorsey, Bobby Price and Jeremy Franks as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by bother Brian Fonner and his first wife Theresa Fonner. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, 2:00 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12-2:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
