Ruth Regina (Himmel) Wehrenberg

Ruth Regina ‘Jean’ Wehrenberg, 88, of Eldersburg, died Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Golden Crest Assisted Living in Westminster. Born October 11, 1931 in Baltimore City, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Small Himmel. She was the wife of the late Donald S. Wehrenberg who died in 1984. They had been married for 34 years. Ruth had retired from Baltimore Federal Savings and Loan where she had worked in accounting. During her retirement she had volunteered at the National Aquarium. She was a member and former treasurer of Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church. She was also a member of several investment clubs and enjoyed bus tours, playing cards and spending time with her family. She was the last of her immediate family. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Richard Wehrenberg and Veronica, daughter and son-in-law Wendy Schmidt and Jesse, grandchildren Laura Perlson and husband Edward, Amber Gilbert and husband Bill, Angie Damaska and husband Jimi and Zachary Schmidt. Ruth is also survived by great granddaughters Ella Kathleen, Addeline Kay and Ella Marie. Funeral services will be private. The Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Interment will be in Freedom Cemetery.
