Ronald Joseph Warnell, passed away Saturday February 9th 2019, in his
home, at the age of 90.
Born November 29, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois, Ron was the son of the
late Joseph and Estelle Blasch Warnell and brother to the late Shirley Warnell McKenna.
Ron married his loving wife, Joan, in 1960, they shared 58 beautiful
years together building a family and watching their children and grand
children grow.
Ron graduated from DePaul University with a degree in Business
Administration before going on to a 29 year career with U.S. Steel.
After retiring from US Steel, Ron then went on to work in the
metallurgical department for Vinson Supply in Houston, Texas for 10
years. A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he was also a member of
American Legion Post #31 in Westminster.
He was a humble, hardworking, family oriented man who exemplified
great honesty and integrity. Ron enjoyed reading, bicycling, and
spending time with his family and their horses, walking his dog Honi
and proudly showing others the massive sailfish he had caught that now
adorns a wall in their home . Ron cared deeply for his friends and
family, and would often help them organize their finances and tax
preparation.
The last of his immediate family; He is survived by his wife Joan
Warnell, son Nelson Blair Warnell, daughter Karen Jaye Fulton and
husband Stephen Ward Fulton and granddaughters Savannah Jaye and Grace
Manila Fulton.
Memorial services will be held Friday, 5:00 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. The family will receive friends from 4:00PM till time of service at the funeral home.There will be a celebration of
life event at Salerno’s Restaurant in Eldersburg, MD after the
service. Interment will be private.
