Rodney Kaminga Obituary

Rodney Ray Kaminga, 91, of Sykesville, died Sunday, May 30, 2021 at home with his loving family by his side. Born June 1, 1930 in Moneta, Iowa, he was the son of the late Henry and Elvina Kaminga. Twice married, he was the husband of Barbara Lavina Kaminga who died in 1980 and Judith Kaminga who died in 2010. Much of his life, Rodney was a livestock dealer working mostly with cattle. He also bought and sold heavy equipment machinery. He is survived by daughters Sharon Denning and husband Pete of Eldersburg Md, and their 8 children, Karen O’Malley and husband Mike, of Jacksonville Fl, and their 5 children, brothers Paul and his wife Shirley Kaminga, David and his wife Eleanor Kaminga, and sister Jane Brown, and 20 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by sister Myrna Flegel Funeral services and interment will be private. The Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784 are assisting the family with funeral arrangements. In memory of Rod, contributions can be made to The Shepherds House LLC, recovery homes for men in Carroll County started by the Dennings, 10 years ago and that Rod strongly supported.
