Richard Vernon Biggs, Jr., 77, of Eldersburg, died Wednesday, October 25, 2023 at his home. Born April 20. 1946 at Bon Secours Hospital in Baltimore City, he was the oldest of 4 children of the late Jane Knuckey Biggs, and Richard Vernon Biggs, Sr. He graduated from Frostburg State College and entered the Navy where he achieved the rank of LTJG. After that he pursued a career in data processing, working for banks, the Rouse company, and Howard County until medical issues forced him to slow down. He then worked for Brothers Roofing for several years until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed travelling and family outings with friend and partner (and ex-wife), Joy Biggs. The family will receive friends at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 11:30-1:00 PM. Entombment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
