Rev. Cody Godman Obituary

Cody Lee Godman, 81 of Eldersburg, MD passed away Sunday, November 16 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born March 3, 1944 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William L. and Laura Godman (Wolf). He was the loving husband of Suzette Harrison Godman. They were married for 56 years. Cody retired from the ministry in 1998 as founding pastor of St. Stephens R.E.C. He was bi-vocational, working almost three decades in the safety industry. As a graduate of the University of Maryland he was a proud alumnus who loved his Terps. He enjoyed playing golf and rooting for the Baltimore Orioles, Colts, and Ravens. In addition to his wife Suzette, Cody is survived by children Elizabeth (Godman) King, son-in-law Justin, son Joshua Cody Godman and his wife Carla, granddaughters Sarah, Lauryn, Elaina, Audrey, Anna, and Julia and his older brother, Bill. The family will receive friends from 4:30-7:00PM on Friday, November 21 at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, 2275 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, Maryland, Funeral services will be held Saturday, 9:30AM at the church with his pastor, the Very Rev. Eric Jorgensen, officiating. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Gardens.
