Peter George Souter

Peter George Souter, 77, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at the Carroll Hospital Center. Born June 6, 1947 in New York, New York, he was the son of the late John F. and Mildred M. Bastiansen Souter. He was the husband of the late Sara Nash Souter who died May 5, 2013. Peter had retired as a plant manager at W.R. Grace Chemical Company. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines serving during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed watching sports and was an avid Orioles and Ravens fan. He was a voracious reader and loved history, particularly the civil war. He had two dogs (Bella and Lizzie) that he loved like they were his kids and he spoiled them rotten. His greatest love was definitely his granddaughters and he spent a ton of time with them. He is survived by daughter Maren Sompayrac and her husband Bill, son Rick Souter and his wife Mary, grandchildren Lily Souter and Anna and Gracie Sompayrac. He was preceded in death by sister Barbara Wright. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025, 1:00 PM with military honors at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, Maryland 21117.
