Patricia S. (Sollberger) Betz

Patricia S. Betz of Slidell, Louisiana died peacefully on August 8, 2022 at home in Marriottsville, MD with her son Nathan at her side. She was born April 8, 1934 the daughter of Fritz Rudolph Sollberger and Eloise Mary Arnold. She was a dedicated wife of 59 years to Ferdinand Lamar Betz who passed away in 2019. They met while she worked for the United States Navy as a Civilian where he was serving active duty. The two were inseparable during their life together and enjoyed traveling, camping and just spending time together with friends and family. Patricia was a dedicated mother with an intense sense of loyalty to family, friends, and the freedoms and civil liberties we are afforded here in the United States of America. She provided endless love, support, and countless opportunities to me which I do my best to emulate as a Father. Pat and Lee found some of their greatest joy traveling between their two favorite destinations; the Emerald Isle of Montserrat and Pocomoonshine Lake. The relationships and friendships they created throughout their lives were strong and very diverse, they loved all types of people and were always willing to lend a helping hand to help others. You always knew exactly where you stood and what was on Patricia’s mind as she was well known for “telling it like it is”. She was a strong woman with a beautiful smile and loving heart who always worked tirelessly to ensure we were well cared for and had everything we needed as a family. Patricia is survived by her son Nathan, daughter in law Laura, and two granddaughters Carolyn and Jessica who love her greatly. There will be no formal services per her request and our family would ask that you celebrate Pat by remembering her and the ways that she touched us all.
