Nancy Ellen Summers

Nancy Ellen Summers, 81, of Westminster, MD, passed away Saturday, August 26th, at University of Maryland Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born March 5, 1942 in Tazewell, Virginia she was the step-daughter of the late Irving Cox & Lillian McGuire. She was the loving wife of Vernon C. Summers, Sr. They had been happily married for 64 wonderful years. Nancy previously worked as a school bus driver for Johnson Bus Service. She was an amazing baker & cooked delicious meals. She also enjoyed going to Bingo & the Beach, playing games & the Lottery, Gardening, frequently talking with friends & taking care of others. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family & pets, but most of all, the Love of her life Vernon Sr. Nancy is survived by her children, Diane Johnson & Tim of Westminster, Vernon Summers Jr. & Trish of Ocean City, JoAnn Walton & Carlton of Finksburg, Sandy Summers & Gary Stamm of Ocean City; her four sisters, Pat Schlichting, Vicky Price, Bobby Stanton, Tiny Coble, & Londa Morgan all of North Carolina. She is also survived by grandchildren Tim, Jr. & Greg Johnson, Ryan, Sean & Erin Summers, Jessica, Jarrett, Evan & Megan Walton; great grandchildren Clark, Skylar, Nolan & Olivia as well as her pets Tanner & Daisy who were treated like Royalty. Nancy is also survived by many nieces, nephews & shared a special bond with Robin Price. She was preceded in death by sister Shirley Questell. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, Maryland. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 5th from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
