Mary Jane (Hill) Guyer

Mary Jane Guyer (nee Hill), 79, of Westminster, died Thursday, June 18, 2026 at her home. Born June 9, 1947 in California, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth S. Hill and the late Edna Hill. She was the wife of Frederick Guyer, her husband of 55 years.

Mary Jane graduated from California University of Pennsylvania in California, Pennsylvania. She worked as a speech pathologist early in her career before staying at home with her sons. She returned to work as the director of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church's preschool program in Randallstown until her retirement in 2006. Mary Jane enjoyed painting, reading, shopping and spoiling her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mary Jane is survived by sons Christopher Guyer (Jennifer) of Sykesville and Darren Guyer of Brisbane, Australia, brother Robert A. Hill (Mary Ann), sister Susan Hill Fruhwirth (Ed), sister-in-law Roslyn Winfield, beloved grandchildren Matthew Guyer, Katie Guyer and Maggie Guyer and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Peter Straub, sister-in-law Elaine Straub, and brother-in-law Warren Winfield.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 PM on Friday, June 26 at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, Maryland. A Service of Death and Resurrection will be held at 1 PM on Saturday, June 27 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 7538 Main Street, Sykesville, Maryland with her son, Rev. Chris Guyer officiating.

Interment will be private.
