Dianne Gilbert, 77, of Glenwood, Maryland, died Saturday, March 20, 2021 at her home. Born May 4, 1943 in Silver Spring, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Carmon R. and Eleanor E. Naples (née Hennessy). Dianne was the beloved wife of Daniel Gilbert. They were married for 47 years. Dianne had been a Registered Nurse for all of her working career, teaching at Georgetown University and practicing at area schools and hospitals. She was a graduate of Georgetown Visitation High School. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Villanova and her Master’s degree in Nursing at Washington University. She always smiled a little brighter at the beach and loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Community where she served as a Stephen Minister. In addition to her husband Dianne is survived by son Daniel Gilbert, daughter and son-in-law Jenny and Kahu Ludwig, sisters Leigh Meyers, Elaine Bernier, Cathy Higgins, brothers James and Robert Naples and grandchildren Jack, Rory and Pico. She was preceded in death by her son Matthew Gilbert and brother Joseph Naples. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 915 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, MD with the Father John Worgul, officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 &6-8 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD.
