Louis Martin Fischer, 88, of Sykesville, died Sunday, September 1, 2024 at Bridginglife Dove House.
Born September 12, 1935 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Harry and Anna Kraft Fischer. He was the loving husband of Betty Fischer. They had been married for 61 years.
Louis was a well-known local farmer. He and his wife Betty owned Pooldale Farm. He enjoyed golf with his high school and local friends. He was a twenty-year member of Roaring Run Lions Club. He was also actively involved in the Christian Farmers Outreach Program. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Sykesville. He was the last of his immediate family.
In addition to his wife Betty, Louis is survived by daughter Kassie Trotta and husband Paul, grandson Luke Trotta and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Paul Fischer and sister Doris Derrenberger.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 12 Noon at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, Maryland with his pastor, Rev. Chris Guyer, officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-12 Noon at the funeral home on Thursday.
