Lise Delawder Obituary

Lise Sue Delawder, 55, of Hagerstown, died Monday, November 1, 2021, at the Howard County General Hospital in her hometown of Columbia, Maryland. Born May 5, 1966 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Mary Joan Cousins Wachtman and the late Joseph Wachtman, Jr. She was the wife of the late Richard Delawder. They were married on April 26, 1997 and were married for more than 20 years before his death on August 6, 2017. After graduating from Wilde Lake High School in 1984, Lise attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, graduated from Washington School of Photography, and then become a wedding and special events photographer. She enjoyed riding horses, going to the beach, and crafting. As a young rider, she was a member of the Iron Bridge Pony Club and fox hunted in Howard County. In recent years she enjoyed cooking with and for family and friends and spending time with her Jack Russell terrier, Molly. In addition to her mother, she is survived by daughter and son-in-law Jamie Lee and Charles Shaffer, Jr., sister and brother-in-law Jan and Tim Hyland, and niece Brett Ashley Hyland. The family will receive friends Friday, November 5, 2021, from 12 noon until 1:00 PM at the Oakland United Methodist Church, 5901 Mineral Hill Road, Sykesville, Maryland. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD is assisting the family will funeral arrangements.
