Jerry Lowell Brightwell, 88, of Sykesville, died Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Future Care Cherrywood in Reisterstown. Born February 1, 1934 in Gladewater, Texas he was the son of the late Otis and Lucy Guin Brightwell. He was the longtime companion of Georgia Hodges. Jerry was a private investigator. He had retired from the U.S. Airforce after 20 years of active duty, some spent in Vietnam, where he was a Vietnamese interpreter. He also participated in the sport of curling while in the Air Force. After leaving the Air Force he opened Atlantic Region Bureau of Investigation and operated it until he was 80. He was a member of the Private Detective Association, he loved to travel, watch sports and play golf. He also would travel to his home state of Texas to play golf with his brother and nephews. He especially loved to watch Taylor, Georgia’s grandson, play sports and would travel to wherever his games were. In addition to Georgia, he is survived by daughter Brenda Kalivoda, son Danny Brightwell, brother Lanny Brightwell, numerous nieces and nephews and special people Taylor and Heather.
