James Haley Obituary

James Allen Haley, 76, of Thomasville, Pennsylvania, formerly of Westminster, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born October 23, 1947 in Westminster, he was the son of the late Wilson ‘Doc’ Haley and Thelma ‘Grammy’ Price Haley. He was the husband of Peggy Sweeney Haley. They had been married for 52 years. Jim had been a truckdriver for Leaseway Motor Car. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam war. He was the last of his immediate family. In addition to his wife Peggy, Jim is survived by daughters Sue Hudson and husband Steve, Sherry Mayne and husband Chip, grandchildren Christopher Mayne, Steven Hudson, Tina Mayne, James Hudson, Tyler Botelho, great grandchildren Amber, Joey, Melody, Caiden, Steven, Jr., Grayson, Cameron, Savannah, Mae and Gunner, Danish daughter and son in law Anne Mette Fischer Pederson and husband Michael and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by siblings Marie Gsell, Ginger Weight, Barbara Adversalo, Thelma and Wilson. The family will receive friends Monday, July 22, 2024 from 4-8 PM at the Jeffery Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. Memorial services will be held Monday, 7:30 PM at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held 11:30 AM, Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD 21117 21 with military honors. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to Disable American Veterans, help.dav.org or Wounded Warriors, support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
