Gary Wayne Rothgeb, 74, of Randallstown, died Saturday, March 12, 2022.
Born September 18, 1947 in Luray, Virginia, he was the son of the late Elwood Rothgeb, Sr. and the late Ila Painter Rothgeb. He was a brilliant man. Gary was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He had worked as a master carpenter and superintendent in the construction industry for most of his life. Gary loved classic cars and rebuilt a 1966 Chevy II Nova from the ground up that became known as “The Thing”, named by his girls. He worked meticulously and took pride in all that he did. After years of hard work on his car, he could be found smiling from ear to ear when he would start that engine and hear it roar or took it out for a drive. Gary also loved playing cards and shooting pool. He was the best of the best. He was “The Incredible Mr. Fix-It” known as the handyman who could build or fix anything and would help anyone any way he could.
He was the husband of Deborah Rothgeb. They had been married for 23 years. In addition to his wife, Gary is survived by daughters and sons-in law Michele Reed and Kenneth; Bridget Caraballo and Jose; Rebecca Dayle Stocksdale and Neal; Kimberly Haines and Corey; brothers Elwood “Sonny” Rothgeb, Jr., Larry Rothgeb, and Page Rothgeb; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother Kenneth Rothgeb and sister Wilma Lee Pullen.
