Elise (Blanton) Fox

Elise Fox, 85, of Sykesville, died Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Northwest Hospital. Born August 24, 1939 in Harlan County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Steve Blanton and Ruby Morris Clay. She was retired from Northrup Grumman after 33 years of service as a circuit board assembler. She loved eating steamed crabs, her dogs and drag racing. She also loved traveling, whether it was flying or driving, to visit family. She was proud to be a coalminer’s daughter. She is survived by daughter Regina ‘Jean’ Baker and her husband Jack of Finksburg, siblings Ester Blanton and his wife Jean of Illinois, Elva Mueller and her husband Conrad of Florida, Brisco Whitaker and his wife Becky of Florida, Lola Burnette and her husband Gary of Georgia, two grandchildren, five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by son Craig Rainey and sister Opal Kazain Zerk. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, 2025, 11:30 AM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, Maryland 21784. Interment will follow in Lake View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:30-11:30 AM.
