Elaine Schwartz (Schwartz) Dawson

Elaine Schwartz Dawson, 95 of Sykesville, died peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law on Sunday, July 19, 2026.

Born October 13, 1930 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Alexis Newman Schwartz, Sr. and the late Hilda Marie Radtke Schwartz.

Elaine was a retired bookkeeper for a title company. She enjoyed doing puzzles, duckpin bowling, travel and watching the Orioles and Ravens sports teams. She was a member of St. Benjamins Lutheran Church in Westminster and a former member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Lansdowne.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Robert and Katherine Dawson, nieces Darlene (Robb) McCormick and Cheryl Moyer (Charlie RIP). Elaine is also survived by grandchildren Bobby, Zach, Jenny and Emma and great grandchildren Caleb, Blakely, Olivia, Mila, Nora, Peach and Dawson. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother Alexis N. Schwartz, Jr. his wife, Joy, and their son Alexis N. Schwartz III.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 24, 11AM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, Maryland. Interment will follow at Glen Haven Memorial Park in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 PM at the funeral home.
