Edmund 'Ted' Morrison Tyler, III

   Edmund ‘Ted’ Morrison Tyler, III, 47, of Sykesville died Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born July 9, 1978 in New York City, New York, he was the son of Edmund Morrison Tyler, Jr. and Sara Stafford Tyler. He was the husband of Christi Tyler.

   Ted found joy in both the simple and extraordinary moments of life. He loved cooking delicious meals for family and friends, discovering new music, playing guitar, watching horror movies, and diving into video games. He was a passionate Dungeons & Dragons player whose imagination and creativity brought countless adventures to life. Through gaming, he formed deep friendships and became part of several close-knit D&D groups that meant so much to him.

   His faithful dogs, Chance and Reba, were constant companions and a source of great happiness. Whether relaxing at home or on a new adventure, Ted cherished every moment spent with them.

   A graduate of Northern High School, Ted pursued the things that inspired him. He earned a Certificate in Music Business and Artist Management from Omega Recording Studios and later followed his passion for food by earning a degree in Culinary Arts from Anne Arundel Community College.

   Ted built a career doing what he loved most—helping others grow. As Operations Manager for Yes Chef! and a Culinary Instructor for The Baltimore Chef Shop in Baltimore, Maryland, he found fulfillment in the people he worked alongside and taught. He loved building teams, mentoring others, and helping students gain the skills and confidence they needed to succeed.

   Above all else, Ted was a devoted husband and family man. He shared fifteen wonderful years of marriage with his wife, Christi Tyler, and took great pride in being a loving and supportive presence in the life of his stepdaughter, Mirah Sutton. Together they built a life filled with laughter, adventures, and countless cherished memories.

   In addition to his parents and wife, Ted is survived by sisters Megan Dodson and her husband AJ, Christie Howard and her husband Steve, stepdaughter Mirah Sutton, sister-in-law Melinda Moore and husband Matt Ball, and nephews Remy Ball and Odin Ball.

   Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His family and friends will carry his stories forward, hear him in the music he loved, remember him in every shared meal, and find him in the laughter around every game table. Ted will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.

   A celebration of Life will be held Sunday July 12 at 1:00 pm at the Carriage House, 5410 Leaf Treader Way, Columbia, MD 21044.
