Edith ‘Edie’ Katherine (Hoff) Winters, 94, of Westminster died Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Carroll Hospital Center. Born September 8, 1927 in Gamber, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Francis ‘Pete’ Hoff and Treva Catherine (Barber) Hoff. She was the wife of the late William ‘Bill’ Homer Winters, Jr. who died December 30, 2004. They had been married for 59 years at the time of his death. Edie, as well as being a wife and mother to five children, worked for Westinghouse as a circuit board assembler. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Smallwood. She was also a lifelong member and Past Worthy Matron of the Door to Virtue Chapter #94 Order of the Eastern Star in 1968, as well as Past Guardian of International Order of Jobs Daughters Bethel #31. She enjoyed a competitive game of Rummy, watching the Orioles, Ravens and Navy Football, eating crab cakes from Rock Salt, and dinners at the Elks. While she had many lifelong friends, she truly enjoyed her special outings with close friends, the late Ruth and Bob Bare. She was the last of her immediate family as she was preceded in death by her sister Mildred (Hoff) Weaver and brother Gilbert Hoff. She is survived by daughters Dianne Parsons and husband Robert, Cynthia Hamilton, sons Robert Winters and wife Diane, Lannon Winters and wife Davalene, 12 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter and son-in-law Sandra and Paul Schlerf. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 7, 2021 from 10:30-12 Noon at Trinity Lutheran Church, 833 Deer Park Road, Westminster, Maryland 21157 where a funeral service will be held at 12 Noon. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The Eastern Star will conduct a memorial service Tuesday, 11:30AM at the church. Face coverings will be required to attend the visitation and funeral service at the church. Flowers should be sent to the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Rd, Sykesville, MD.
