Obituary

Duane Ellis Heaton, 87, of Sykesville, died Friday, July 14, 2023 at Copper Ridge. Born January 23, 1936 in Clarkshill, Indiana. He was the son of the late Glen and Edna Marie Ellis Heaton. He was the loving husband of the late Linda Heaton who died in 2020. Duane will never be forgotten by his three sons, Lindsey, Neal and Brian. He was so proud of all his sons' accomplishments. He loved his two granddaughters, Lillian and Paige. He cared and loved them deeply. He will be greatly missed by his daughter in law, Mickey who loved and cared for him to the end. Duane is survived by his sister Janice Peterson and Fred O'Brien. Duane was initially from Indiana where he graduated from Perdue University. Majored in Economics and minored in English. He served in the army for few years. He worked for the Social Security Administration in Woodlawn, Maryland for 38 years. He enjoyed traveling, reading, socializing and eating out with his family which was his favorite past time. He will be best remembered for being a very loving, patient and caring person who loved helping people. Duane will be greatly missed by his family! Graveside services will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 12-2 PM at Wards Chapel Cemetery. The Jeffrey N.
