Douglas Cranford Priddy, 81, of Sykesville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 15, 2025. Born October 1, 1943, in Pine Hall, North Carolina, Doug was the son of the late Walter Cranford Priddy and Ruth Marie Webb Priddy. He was the devoted husband of Sheryl Ann Harris Priddy, whom he married on December 14, 1968, in Jefferson County, Kentucky. They shared 58 years of marriage. Doug proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant before being honorably discharged on March 31, 1972. Following his military service, he enjoyed a long and successful career as a salesman in the trucking industry. At the age of 62, he founded Mighty Fine Transportation & Logistics in 2006 and, through hard work and perseverance, incorporated the company in 2007, growing it into a thriving business. A lifelong golf enthusiast, Doug was proud of achieving a 12 handicap—reflecting his dedication and love for the sport. In his later years, his greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved grandchildren, Beau and Isabelle. Doug is survived by his wife, Sheryl, who currently resides in a nursing home with dementia; his daughters Meredith Lane Priddy and her husband Joshua Lennon Boyd, and Rachel Amanda Priddy; grandchildren Beau Jacob and Isabelle Grace Priddy; brothers Donnie Wayne Priddy and his wife Judy, and Fred Dixon Priddy. He was preceded in death by his sons, Eric Brandon Priddy and Christopher Shane Priddy. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation at Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, Maryland, on Thursday, June 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:45 AM on Friday, June 27, at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, Maryland.
