Dorothy Ann (Bankard) Humphrey

Dorothy Ann Humphrey, 86, of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, died Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Spiritrust Gettysburg Assisted Living. Born October 23, 1937 in Warrenton, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Gearry Walter Bankard Sr. and Dorothy Gertrude Hoak Bankard. She was the wife of the late Marvin E. Humphrey who died February 18, 2024. They had been married for 50 years. Dorothy had retired from Westinghouse Corporation working in the contracts department. She enjoyed camping, reading, and spending time with her dogs, Spike and Chloe and her family. She is survived by her daughters Pattie Bontz, Susan Wunder and her husband Bill, Terry Vaughan and husband Steve, son Brian McDermott, brother Charles Hoak Bankard 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by daughter Kitty Hutslar, brother Gearry Walter Bankard, Jr and son in law Joe Bontz. Memorial services will be Friday, June 21, 2024, 12 Noon, at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. Inurnment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home from 11:00 AM till time of service.
