Diane Lynn Unglesbee-Froelich, 76, of Finksburg, died Thursday, September 28, 2023 at BridgingLife Dove House Hospice, surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 4, 1947 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Henry George and Hazel Curley Hendricksen. She was married to Tony Unglesbee from 1966 until his passing in November of 2003. She found companionship again with her second husband, Norman Froelich in June of 2008.
Diane worked as the Nutrition Programs Director for the Carroll County Department of Aging for over 20 years, working to ensure that Carroll’s aging population had nutritional meals available to them. She also worked with Meals on Wheels, Seniors Keep In Touch and other programs focused on the health and well-being of local seniors.
Diane had a variety of interests including traveling and enjoying Americana, relaxing at the beach and spending time with her family. She was proud of her home, enjoyed flower gardening and had a strong compassion for animals.
In addition to her husband, Diane is survived by son Tim Unglesbee (Andrea), daughter Jennifer Kolodny (Rick), step-son Jeffrey Froelich (Dori Ann), step-daughter Johanna Shook (Jon), grandsons Trenton and Trevor Shook and Evan Froelich, and granddaughters Trina Shook, Natalie and Elise Kolodny. She was preceded in death by siblings George Hendricksen and Shirley Bicknell. She had an ever-positive outlook on life, an empathetic heart and a subtle sense of humor that will be missed immensely by those that loved her.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, Maryland. The Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Lindsay officiating. Interment will follow at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Finksburg.
