Obituary

Diane Elizabeth Dorman of Sykesville died peacefully after a brief illness Wednesday December 7th, she was 73. Diane left us surrounded by family at the Dove House in Westminster. Born August 2nd 1949 in Glen Cove New York, she was the daughter of the late Henry Karl and Ruth Ann Beadle Edquist who resides in Virginia. Diane had retired as the VP of Communications at the National Organization of Rare Disorders. Diane had a passion for needle point and used those skills to make blankets for the Carroll Hospital Center where she was also a devoted volunteer. She loved history and politics and was recently taking some courses at Carroll Community College. Diane’s greatest joy was time with family, specifically her grandchildren and her beloved cat Mrs. Norris. In addition to her mother, Diane is survived by her 3 daughters and their husbands; Rhonda and Steve Parker, Tory and Matt Humphrey and Sarah and Chris Northcraft as well as her siblings Linda and Henry Edquist, and daughter-in-law Rebecca Dorman. Also survived by 8 loving grandchildren, Ethan, Gabriella, Sophia, Ellie, Stella, Nora, Alex and Steven. She was preceded in death by her son Joshua Karl Dorman who passed away March 7th of 2017. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home located at 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg Maryland. Services and interment will be private.
