Dana B. Smith, Jr., of Eldersburg, died Monday, May 3, 2021, he was 70 years old. Son of the late Dana B. Smith, Sr. and Lois T. Smith, he was a loving and devoted husband to Deborah Smith for 47 years. Dana was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps (USMC), as a door gunner and avionics technician. He was also a crew chief and mechanic in the United States Army Reserves (USAR). Dana is survived by his wife Deborah, daughter Jessica Mathis, son Matthew Smith, sister Cynthia Williams and grandchildren Jonas, Ilayna and Lincoln Mathis. The family will receive friends at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784, on Monday, May 10th, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM; and Tuesday, May 11th from 10:00 AM until the start of service at said funeral home. Masks must be worn and social distancing will be in place. Services will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 11:00AM, at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Rd., Owings Mills, MD 21117.
