Brittany Ann (Chairs) Smith

Brittany Ann (Chairs) Smith of Eldersburg, Maryland, passed away on January 8, 2024 from Mixed Phenotype Acute Leukemia at the age of 38. She is survived by her beloved husband Christopher; cherished daughter Danielle; parents Timothy and Leslie Chairs; brothers Timothy Chairs Jr (Kourtni) and Patrick Chairs (Stephanie); nephews Brendan and Collin Chairs; grandmother Mary March; godmother Theresa Webster (John) and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her grandfather Daniel March; grandparents Samuel and Patricia Chairs; and great-grandfather Casmir March. Brittany grew up in Eldersburg and graduated from Liberty High School. She then attended the University of MD at College Park and earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and went on to Johns Hopkins University to earn her Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Supervision. For 16 years she served in a number of different roles for the Howard County Public School System, teaching over 4,600 students. She claimed her greatest accomplishment was her daughter Danni, and she loved spending time with her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 1:00 PM at St Joseph’s Catholic Church, 915 Liberty Road, Sykesville, Maryland. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville, Maryland. The family will receive friends Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD.
