Biruta Magdalena (Petravicius) Baltrunas

Biruta Baltrunas, 96, of Eldersburg, died Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Golden Crest Assisted Living at St. Paul Road in Hampstead. Born in Baltimore in 1926, she was the daughter of the late Ambrazeijus and Magdalena Sakalauskaite Petravicius. She was the wife of the late Alfonsas Baltrunas. Biruta grew up in Lithuania and was active in the Lithuanian community in Baltimore. She worked as a seamstress for Haas Tailoring Company. She moved to Carroll County in retirement and enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach in Ocean City, and working outdoors in her beautifully landscaped yard. She is survived by her son-in-law Ronald Deacon, grandchildren Jeffrey Deacon and Kristen (Joseph) Rybandt, and great grandchildren Kayleigh (DJ), Vanessa, Audrey, and Jack. She was preceded in death by daughter Dalia Deacon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023, 1:00 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg. Interment will follow in Druid Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12 Noon - 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
