Barbara Susan (Lumsden) Walton

Barbara Susan Lumsden Walton, 84, of Eldersburg, died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Bridginglife Dove House Hospice in Westminster. Born June 14, 1940 in Louisa, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Milton Trigg, Sr. and Catherine Spicer Lumsden. She was happily married for 58 years to the late Stuart Carlton Walton, Sr. who died November 5, 2016.She was predeceased by her brother, Milton Trigg “MT” Jr. Barbara retired from the Bechtel Corporation as a project manager in the nuclear power field. Before joining the workforce, she enjoyed raising her family & loved to crochet quilts, scarves & baby blankets. As a talented seamstress, she made clothing, including dresses and suits for her children. She also loved to read books and spent many a late night doing both. Her faithful K9 companion Tommy, shared her later years and would always be right by her side. Barbara is survived by son Carlton (JoAnn) Walton, daughters Jennifer (Wayne) Golliday, Kim (Steve) Ritz, and son Steve (Laurie) Walton. She was a great supporter of her foster daughters Charlotte Barrett and Mary McCray. She was the doting grandmother of Kylie, Iain, Morgan, Jessica, Jarrett, Evan, Megan, Grace, Ava and Keira. She was recently blessed with Amelia, her first Great Granddaughter. Visitation will be held at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home 6028 Sykesville Road in Eldersburg on Saturday, February 1, from 11:00AM-1:00PM. Visitation will be held Monday, February 3, 2025, 11:00AM-1:00PM at the Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Ave., Louisa, VA 23093. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Louisa, Virginia.
