Barbara Lee (Powers) Suess

Barbara Lee Suess, 75, of Sykesville, died Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Carroll Hospital Center. Born April 14, 1946 in Cumberland, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Betty Lee Powers. Twice married, she was the wife of the late Richard P. Suess who died August 10, 2018 and the former wife of Michael Cook. She had worked for many years as an administrative assistant at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics’ Lab. She loved shopping, antiquing and doll collecting. She is survived by sons Gregory Cook and his wife Mellissa, Kevin Cook, brothers Michael and David Powers, sister Diane Sarver, four grandchildren and her long-time caregiver Chrissy Egan. The family will receive friends at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Rd., Sykesville, MD 21784, on Tuesday, May 25th, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2021, 11:00AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake View Memorial Park in Sykesville, MD.
