Arlene Brenda (Schaeffer) Boone

Arlene Brenda Boone (née Schaeffer) passed away on August 19, 2023 at age 84. Mrs. Boone was born at Oakland Mills, Carroll County, Maryland on May 28, 1939. She was the daughter of Margaret B. (“Mick”) Schaeffer (née Phillips) and Charles Arthur Schaeffer. She graduated from Catonsville High School in 1957 and was married in 1957 to Blakely O. Boone (“Bob”). Mrs. Boone had worked for USF&G, Burgess & Parsley, and Howard County Department of Public Works. Throughout her life she enjoyed sewing, gardening, and ceramics. Later in life she enjoyed country line dancing, cooking, reading, and jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her son Troy Monroe Boone and his wife Pamela Lougheed, her niece Lori Schaeffer, and her longtime friends Cathy and Jay Sutherland, and Hazel Norman. Mrs. Boone was predeceased by her husband of 46 years Blakely O. Boone, her brother Aubrey Reed Schaeffer, Sr. and his wife Gloria, her nephew Aubrey Reed Schaeffer, Jr., and her beloved companions Dolly and Molly Boone. Funeral services are private at the discretion of the family. Internment at Old Oakland Church Cemetery.
