Albert Ivan Velasquez

Albert Ivan Velasquez, 81, of Eldersburg, died at his home, Saturday, January 22, 2022. Born August 18, 1940 in Antonito, Colorado, he was the son of the late Edmund and Susie (Suazo) Velasquez. He was the devoted husband of Maria Luisa (Ramon) Velasquez. They had been married for almost 60 years. Albert had retired from the NSA. He had a deep appreciation for classic cars. He loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed tinkering in the yard, the Dallas Cowboys and visiting with friends. In addition to his wife Maria, Albert is survived by daughter Katherine Guzman (Mike), Michelle Sweet (Jeff), Nichole Velasquez (Jeff), sisters Martha Powers, Olga Joyce, Pricilla Montoya, Gloria Mirabal, Lorraine Romero and Marie Kenny. He is also survived by grandchildren Michael Guzman (Emily), Rachel Ricketts-Uy (Max), Lauren Guzman, Jenna Sweet, Kevin Sweet and Kylie, Declan and Zachary Lefevre, and great grandchildren Marisol Guzman and Maquel Ricketts-Uy. Funeral services will be held at a later date. The Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, Maryland is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
