Mary Gail (Steigleman) Willie

Mary Gail Willie, 62, of Mt. Airy, died Sunday, January 29, 2017 at her home following an extended illness. Born August 12, 1954 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William Earle, Jr. and the late Shirley Juanita Plough Steigleman. She was the wife of Adam L. Willie. They had been married for 34 years. She was a registered nurse, BSN with the Sandy Springs Friends School. Gail graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in nursing. She was a member and a leader with the Howard County 4-H. For over 20 years, Gail would volunteer one week each summer as the camp nurse and outdoor cooking instructor. She regularly attended the Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival. Gail was also a member of the Glenwood Lions Club, Maryland Farm Bureau and United States Pony Club. She and her family had a passion for camping and were members of the Wally Byam Caravan Club, Intl. Inc. Central Maryland Unit and the Maryland Travel Trailer Club. She was also a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by son and daughter-in-law Eric Earle Willie and Jessica, daughter and son-in-law Kristen Lindsay Parris and Darren and grandchildren Makayla Grace and Mason Earle Willie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 11:00 AM at St. Michaels Catholic Church, 1125 St. Michaels Road, Mt. Airy, Maryland 21771 with the Rev. J. Michael Ruane, officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
