Gerald Douglas Mundy, 68, of Shippensburg, PA, formerly of Westminster, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Chambersburg Hospital. Born February 6, 1950 in Harford County, he was the son of the late Robert Henry Mundy and Frieda Virginia Bailey Mundy. Gerry was the husband of Denise Kay Mundy. They had been married for 41 years. Gerry was retired from the mortgage business. He was in the first graduating class from South Carroll High School in 1968. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving during the Vietnam War era. He was a former girl’s softball and basketball coach for the Westminster Jaycees. Gerry enjoyed playing softball and basketball. He loved the Orioles and Ravens and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife Kay, Gerry is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Heather Mackie and Jason, Stephanie Owings and Kevin, sisters Lois Pritchett and Delores Knight and grandchildren Hannah and Savanna Mackie and Oakley Owings. He was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and granddaughter Brianna Mackie. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11:00 AM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD with pastor Ernie Knight, officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to the Kennedy Krieger Institute, 707 N.
