E. Gilbert ‘Gil’ Gregory, 74, of Sykesville, died Wednesday, January 3, 2019 at his home.
Born December 7, 1944 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Arthur Edward and Edith Catherine Haller Gregory. He was the beloved companion of Cheryl English. They had been together for over 30 years.
He retired from Coca-Cola after 25 years of service as an Assistant Transportation Manager. He graduated from Southern High School in Baltimore. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, American Legion Post #233 in Sykesville and of The Associates Social Club.
Gil was a very warm hearted, compassionate and giving person that would go above and beyond for those who touched his heart. Family was very important to him. He was also a true Baltimorean – loving his Orioles and Ravens! Gil also enjoyed his classic black and white movies.
In addition to Cheryl, Gil is survived by son and daughter-in-law Timothy and Dana, grandsons Elijah and Joshua, sister Dawn Dawson (Thomas), Chad English (Heather), grandson Logan and soon to be born Lincoln, mother-in-law Christine Buskirk, beloved pet Gizzie and numerous nieces and nephews that he truly adored.
He is predeceased by brothers, William Brown, Frank Brown, Edward Brown, Ronald Brown, and Raymond Gregory.
Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, 2 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD with Rev. Chris Guyer, officiating.
