Marvin Elwood Humphrey

Marvin E. Humphrey, 86 of Shippensburg Pa. and Eldersburg, Md., passed away on the evening of his birthday, February 18, 2024, surrounded by family. Born February 18, 1938 in Woodlawn, Md., he was the son of the late Elwood Humphrey and the late Sarah Moyer Humphrey. He was the loving husband of 50 years to Dorothy Humphrey and the late Nancy Lee (Grill) Humphrey. Marvin was a proud member of the Maryland National Guard. He retired from Northrop Grumman as an inspector of satellite equipment with 43 years of service. After retiring he became a school bus driver in Eldersburg. He transported his grandchildren and many others back and forth to school. He also was a school bus driver for the YMCA of Chambersburg, Pa. for 16 years. He loved his family, dogs, camping, motorcycles, his model trains and cars. He is survived by his daughters Terry Vaughan and husband Steve, Pattie Bontz, Susan Wunder and her husband Bill, son Brian McDermott, stepfather Alton Moyer and sister-in-law Jackie Humphrey. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Melvin Humphrey, daughter Karen Hutslar, and his son in law Joe Bontz. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 23, 2024 at The Jeffery Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, Md. from 11 to 1 pm. Service at 1pm.
