On Sunday, February 25, 2024, Donald Richard Williams, Sr. 93 of Westminster, formerly of Taneytown, MD, passed away. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Carolyn J. (nee Moore) Williams. Born on September 18,1930 in Baltimore, to the late George Walter Williams, Jr. and Martha R. Williams. Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing pool, and spending time with family. Don was an active member of the Lions Clubs for many years serving in both the Freedom and Taneytown Districts. Don is also survived by his daughter Karen Ameel and husband Tom, and their children, Emily Ameel and husband Justin Metheny, and Sarah Ameel; daughter Linda Glazier and husband Jack, and their children Nicole Clute and husband Brandon, Alison Damico and husband Joe, and Michael Glazier; son Donald Williams Jr. and wife Teresa, and their son Cameron Williams. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Robert. Service and interment will be private. The Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784 is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
