Thomas Elmer Brown

Thomas Elmer Brown, 89, of Marriottsville, Maryland, died Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Copper Ridge Nursing Rehabilitation Center. Born April 1, 1927 in Annapolis, he was the son of the late Mack and Bessie Wiseman Brown. He was the husband of the late Catherine Brown. Thomas worked for his grandfather at his sawmill. He also owned his own boat and tongued for oysters and helped his family raise tobacco. He retired from Henryton Hospital after 27 years of service in the dietary department. Thomas loved to work outdoors in his yard and garden. He leaves to mourn a son, Wayne Nathaniel ‘Butch’ Brown, Sr. and his wife Tina, grandchildren Shantel Brown, Wayne N. Brown, Jr. and his wife Patrina and Justin and Jordan Brown. Also surviving are a sister Mary Helen Hawkins and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by siblings Ethel Jackson, Ruth Murray, and Richard and Rodger Brown. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10-11 AM at the West Liberty United Methodist Church, 2000 Sand Hill Road, Marriottsville, Maryland 21104. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00AM at the church with the Rev. Dr. Douglas Sands officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The Jeffrey N.
