Sammy F. Grizzel, Sr.

Sammy F. Grizzel, Sr., 79, of Pasadena, died Friday, March 11, 2016 at Seasons Hospice. Born August 3, 1936 in Tazewell, Virginia, he was the son of the late Brownlow and Brownie Pearl McCoy Grizzel. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann Hensley Grizzel who died June 19, 2015. They had been married for over 49 years. He had worked as a quality inspector in the metal lithography field for 35 years. He enjoyed living near the water and spending time with his family. He is survived by daughters Lisa A. Carre and Tammy R. Truslow, sons Sammy Grizzel, Jr. and David F. Grizzel, brothers Teddy, Jackie, and David Grizzel, 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Russell Grizzel, brother Johnny Grizzel and granddaughter Lauren R. Truslow. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 12 Noon, at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD with the Rev. Errol Smith, officiating. Entombment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 10:00AM till time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
