Joseph Oscar Harris, Jr.

Joseph Oscar Harris, Jr., 59, of Westminster died Monday, December 12, 2016 at his home. Born October 21, 1957 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Joseph Oscar Harris, Sr. and Shirley Bell Harris. He was the husband of Martha ‘Marcy’ Chase Harris. They had been married for 35 years. He was well known for his woodworking ability; especially trim work, custom built-ins, kitchen installations and home building. He was a graduate of Westminster High School, class of 1975. Joe was also a ten year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was also very involved with raising cattle and farming. He was a member of the American Simmental Association and the Blockbusters Cattlemans Group. He also enjoyed golfing with his Wednesday afternoon group, going to the Eagles and working on his farms. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons Joseph O. Harris III, Stephen Andrew Harris and USAF Staff Sgt. Brandon Scott Harris. He is also survived by sister Ruth Ann Phelps and husband Jack, brothers Raymond Richard Harris and wife Faye, Thomas William Harris and wife Donna and Christopher Allen Harris and fiancé Kerri. Joe also is survived by grandson Landon Harris Brady. Funeral services will be private. The family will receive friends Saturday, from 2-5 PM at the Jeffrey N.
