Joseph Cameron Abell, 57, of Westminster, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the home of his sister from an extended illness.
Born March 5, 1958 in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of Joy Abell Cannon and the late Joseph A. Abell Jr. He was the husband of the late Donna Julia Abell (Crafton), who died November 19, 2014. They had been married for 25 years.
He was a developer and entrepreneur. He graduated from South Carroll High School in 1976. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons.
In addition to his mother, Joe is survived by sons James C. Abell and his wife Colleen, Michael J. Abell, sister Dani Abell Bly and husband Wendell, brothers Scott Abell and wife Dottie, Patrick Abell and wife Michelle, and Chris Abell and wife Julie, brothers-in-law John Joseph Crafton, Jr., Richard Francis Crafton, and Michael Stewart Crafton and his wife Donna Lee. He is also survived by grandsons Finnegan, Gunner, and Lochlan Abell, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. A Memorial Service will be held, Monday; 11:00 AM at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 4901 Woodbine Road, Sykesville, Maryland 21784 with Rev. Judy Emerson officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to The American Cancer Society, 1393 Progress Way #908, Eldersburg, MD 21784
