Ida Jean Dougherty, 60, of Finksburg, died Saturday, December 24, 2016, surrounded by her family, at the Carroll Hospice Dove House. Born September 5, 1956 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of Marilyn Watt Evans and the late Gary Evans. She was the wife of Thomas Dougherty. They were married May 25, 1985 and had been married for 31 years. She was an administrative assistant with Long & Foster Realty in Eldersburg. She enjoyed reading books, dog walking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Sandy Mount United Methodist Church. In addition to her mother and husband, Jean is survived by daughter and son-in-law Holly McAllister and Steven, son and daughter-in-law James Dougherty and Maegan, and brother Mark Evans. The family will receive friends Friday January 6 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 7, 11:00AM at Sandy Mount United Methodist Church, 2101 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD 21048, with her Pastor Robert T. Wellman, officiating. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
