Donna Carol (Rowe) Box

July 30, 1960 ~ August 13, 2016 (age 56) 56 Years Old

Donna Carol Box, loving and beautiful wife, mother, sister, and daughter died Saturday, August 13th at the University of Maryland Medical Center after a long and brave struggle with aplastic anemia. Born July 30, 1960 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of William H. Rowe, Jr. and Gail Crawford Rowe. She was the wife of Larry Box. Donna was a financial secretary with Carroll County Public Schools. Donna was a joy and inspiration to all who knew her. There was no project too daunting for Donna to tackle singlehandedly, no emotion or detail she was not able to capture in her art, and no end to what she would do to help others. Donna carried on the love of crafts instilled by her grandmother, loved spending time with family and friends, enjoyed nature, exercise, reading, puzzles, and games. Donna’s sense of humor and selflessness never waned, even during her life’s most difficult challenges. She was an avid runner and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, Donna is survived by daughter Caitlin and boyfriend Ben Ginty, brother Jason Eric Box and his wife Heather Odermatt-Box, siblings William H. Rowe, III and his wife Carrie, Denise Rowe and her wife Leslie, Susan Dreisch and her husband Frank, and Matthew Rowe and his wife Rebecca. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial service will be held Friday, August 19, 4 PM at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 7538 Main Street, Sykesville, MD with pastor, Rev. Doug Tzan, officiating. There will be no public visitation. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a scholarship fund for her daughter Caitlin Box to Branch Banking and Trust, care of/Caitlin Box, 1300 Liberty Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
