Dean E. Widerman, 67, of Sykesville, died Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Carroll Dove House. Born November 1, 1949 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Milburn Edwin and Jeanette Marie Baer Widerman. He was the husband of Eileen Hardesty Widerman. They had been married since June 21, 1991. Dean was a retired boat captain with Maryland Diving Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. In his younger days, he was a roofer and concrete cutter. He loved skydiving and was a member of the U.S. Parachute Association. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, sodoku and sharing with people the art of skydiving. In addition to his wife Eileen, Dean is survived by daughter Inge Kay Widerman, sister Juanita Marie Wahl and granddaughter Aubrey Ann Coale. He was preceded in death by sister Jeanne Widerman. The family will receive friends Friday, November 3, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. Funeral services will take place Saturday, 11:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, Maryland 21157.
