Charlie Grady Craig, Sr., 83, of Woodbine, died Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Carroll Dove House. Born May 16, 1934 in Rossville, Georgia, he was the son of the late Ben Anderson Craig, Sr. and Elah Mae Jeffries. He was the husband of 61 years to Emma Francis Craig (nee Fisher). Charlie was a military spec grade painter with Ridge Engineering. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War. He attended the Baltimore School of the Bible and was a licensed Baptist Minister. “He wanted to be known as a Christian man who loved to serve the Lord". Charlie was active in many churches. He was most active with Arlington Baptist Church in Randallstown. He was a member of the Blue-Nosed Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing in the Chesapeake Bay and spending time with family. In addition to his wife he is survived by sons Charles G. Craig, Jr. and wife Karen, Michael J. Craig, Sr. and wife Cheryl, Gordon M. Craig, Sr. and wife Kathleen and Timothy D. Craig, Sr. and wife Melissa. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Half brothers Jerome and Ronald Craig and half sister Sue Craig also survive Charlie. He was preceded in death by brother Ben Anderson Craig, Jr. and step mother Evelyn Craig. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 25, 9:30AM at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD. Internment in Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to Carroll Dove House, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
