Barbara Matthews (Matthews) Kreinar

Barbara Matthews Kreinar, 59, of Westminster, died Thursday, June 8, 2017. Born April 11, 1958 in Ridgewood, New Jersey, she was the daughter of Margaret Emerson Matthews and the late Bernard Matthews. She was the wife of the late Edward Kreinar who died January 27, 2009. They had been married for twenty years. Barb worked as a public defender for Carroll County. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in law. She enjoyed traveling, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Baltimore Orioles, walks with friends and spending time with her family. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Community. In addition to her mother, she is survived by sons EJ Kreinar and his wife Paige, Michael and David Kreinar. Barb is also survived by siblings Helene Matthews and husband Mark Widdis, Bernard Matthews and his wife Lisa and Patrick Matthews and his wife June. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 12, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 915 Liberty Road, Sykesville, MD. Interment will follow in Moreland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784 on Sunday, June 11, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, sympathies may be expressed in the form of contributions to Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic (www.midatlantic.wish.org) of American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org/research/acs-researchers.html).
